Fish.inc’s tournament format puts venue-provided equipment at the centre of the competition. The unit’s official description says participants fish with the venue’s fish, time window and equipment, so an advantage is not meant to come simply from owning a more expensive rod.
The scoring also recognises both ends of the catch scale: the largest or heaviest fish and the smallest or lightest fish. With more than one category, the result is not defined by a single measure of success. Fish.inc describes a format without elimination, in which the smallest catch of the day can also receive a prize.
This makes the tournament more than a contest for the heaviest fish. A shared equipment setup and recognition for two different catch categories encourage participants to focus on technique, observation and the fishing experience throughout a session.
